Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises ten Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
Values & Ethos
Reepham High School and College believes that every single pupil is entitled to teaching and learning of the highest calibre, allowing all pupils to achieve to their academic potential.
This is our core purpose. Alongside this, however, we also strive to develop in our young people experiences and skills that will be sought by employers and universities. For instance, all of our pupils have two weeks of work experience and local employers are in the school frequently helping deliver our outstanding careers programme. Our third goal is to turn out kind people and good citizens. We believe that these attributes are essential if our young people are to have happy and fulfilling lives within a flourishing society. We expect staff and pupils to be courteous, cheerful, good humoured and keen to do the right thing, not the easy thing.
For pupils to flourish academically we believe that they not only need academic rigour, they all need to feel valued and supported by all school staff. Teachers and support staff work very hard to get to know individual pupils and to find out their interests and what makes them tick. For this reason, relationships and behaviour within the school are excellent.
When a child arrives at Reepham High School and College, she/he will find an ordered, well-organised, happy and caring school. The teachers and the pupils work hard in an atmosphere which is conducive to work and yet is still friendly. Every morning our pupils walk in silence into our main hall for a formal assembly. This is achieved through smiles, humour and high expectations, but the pupils know that the adults are in charge. Bit by bit our young people develop wonderful self discipline and they learn the right thing to do.
RHSC is a comprehensive school with pupils from all sorts of backgrounds. We expect every one of our pupils to work hard. We know that every year some will go on to study at Cambridge and others to study medicine. A larger number will be attending Russell Group universities. But there will be others who do not find academic study easy. We support ALL our pupils and work hard to help ALL of them achieve to their very best.
Examination results are very important indicators of achievement and for many years GCSE and A Level results at RHSC have been consistently excellent. But the success of a school can be measured in many other ways. The prowess shown on the sports fields of the county, the contribution made to musical events, the links with the wider community and charitable work are some of the other ways in which a school can be deemed to be successful. In all of these areas and others, the school has met with consistent success over many years. We are particularly proud of the international dimension of our work which has been recognised by the British Council. Our International School Award is currently in the process of being renewed.
