International Links

The school places great importance on giving pupils the opportunity to develop into world-class citizens.

Reepham is situated in an area that has been described as “disadvantaged” due to its rural isolation. It is especially important, therefore, that our students are provided with experiences that will allow them to develop awareness and understanding of the wider world.

Foreign languages are given a high priority in the curriculum and we take every opportunity to give students an experience in languages other than those taught in the timetabled curriculum. Visiting teachers from Germany, Italy, Greece and China, for example, have given groups an introduction to their mother-tongues as well as an insight to their countries’ culture.

We have managed to secure European funding, principally through the British Council, that has allowed us to develop partnerships with schools in Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, India and Oman.

Cultural exchange visits are a regular curriculum feature with visits to Belgium, Spain, France, Germany, China and the USA having taken place in the past year.

The British Council and the DfE have recognised the strength of our international programme.  In September 2004 we were awarded the prestigious "International School Award”.

The award was renewed in 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016. This accolade lasts for three years.

During 2016 we started a relationship with schools in China that has led to regular visits by students from China to Reepham and will lead to a visit by our students in October 2017 to China.   In addition, a Mandarin Teacher has been provided for students in Reepham by the Chinese partners and there are now students studying Mandarin to GCSE level in the school.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
